Pino Signoretto Pilchuck Session 5 - 1994 Part 1
I had the pleasure of working under Jonathan Christi who is on the stick at 4 minutes and 7 seconds. He was best friends with Jim Mongrain. I still have an original copy of lino snd pino videos on vhs too. It was an honor to be taught by Jon as well as an honor to have taken a sculpture class with Pino back in 2009
These remind me of Epoxy tables and coasters.
Back in early 2000's a friend introduced me to millefiori paperweights. I have been collecting them ever since, and never ceased to be amazed at how unique and special each one is as a work of art. I have seen paperweights with some of the tiniest canes, 1/8" in size, that are nothing short of impressive.
Maestro!
Woderful video, but music not good, irritating like waiting in a queue to speak to the Doctors receptionist
Im watching a documentary about paperweights. 😂 And Im enjoying it!
.
Great video 👍🏽

i have a paperweight from my grandma that looks like these @7:50
Beautiful and mesmerizing.
same garage and everything !
Inglese imbarazzante ...
beautiful, where can i find it
... that background synth music takes me back to the 80's... sounds like it could burst into 'Miami Vice' at any time!.. great video btw.
Thank you so much for this video
weird to think that the corning museum has a better lit glass production area than a professional studio/factory.
Awesome! Great to see and hear 'Orient and Flume". Local artists just a few blocks from home, like 'Sierra Nevada Brewery'.
Why say it has an inscription on the bottom in Russian if you are not going to tell us what it says?! ??
Where's the oculus quest 2?
Prices ?
for a 1985 3D multi layered vase 10" tall 7" wide is around 2,500
Cool and interesting video. Thanks.
Fascinated to witness such art of work....if you possess one you will urge for more... and that goes on ...and your sleep is gone
spectacular to see how the flower was encased without being damaged
this is gold !
I would really love an I depth documentary on Murano glass and murinne. This was a good watch thank you. I felt like it only touched the very surface of a fascinating subject though. ☺
Lord Dice X the book that went with this exhibition is pretty great m.ebay.com/itm/Miniature-Masterpieces-Mosaic-Glass-1838-1924-by-Sarpellon-Giovanni/142842445370?epid=519979&hash=item214212be3a:g:mq0AAOSwDZ1bBsQC
What was the name of the old boy wearing the specs? And what happened to him? Whenever I went there, he was always doing the public demos!
I have an original VHS tape of this session and a lino one that I got from one of my now deceased sculpting teachers who worked closely with Pino
love my small collection of paperweights...made by Selkirk Glass.....
Historic footage! When was it shot?
Looks like 1985: rakow.cmog.org/vwebv/holdingsInfo?bibId=62215
shaky hands and nervous moves.. still so cool. We're all humans after all :) :) love it.
Thank you, every Paperweight has its on beauty to look at. I also like to hold a paperweight in my hands. The shape, the way it chances temperature in my hands and the smoothness.
Paperweights are the ultimate expression of the glass makers art. Understanding that the human hand can never touch the molten glass makes these miniature art objects even more mystifying.
This video is really amazing ! I love Alfredo Barbini. I found a vulcano piece www.artdecoceramicglasslight.com/makers/barbini-alfredo/ref-c13703---volcano-glass-sculpture-by-alfredo-barbini-1950s that I cannot afford...
I've taken three classes with him at Corning. I also like this video for showing BG working on the moves he does so fluidly today. There's hope for all of us that struggle with well-centered goblets. By the way, where was this filmed? He's using the same style furnace/glory hole he uses now.
eravamo più giovani qui.......
Do you do memorial paperweights with ashes?
The legs are done so well ....
Many beautiful paperweight examples. Also very interesting to watch how this fascinating pieces of art are made. Thanks for the upload!
What do you call the white line latticework?Any info on where I can see how it's done? It's mesmerizing to me!
